By Mark Ampleford, managing director, BSS
In a move to fortify our position as a security and technology solutions provider, BSS has recently launched its new advisory board.
This strategic addition aims to broaden, diversify, and enhance the expertise, experience, and services that BSS delivers — further helping us to empower senior IT and security leaders in tackling ongoing challenges.
Not just figure heads, the BSS advisory board will be actively involved in the business, directly supporting the senior team and occasionally working with clients.
Introducing the board
The founding members are Christopher Meehan and John Madelin. Both distinguished figures in the cybersecurity landscape, they were chosen because of their breadth of knowledge and the expertise they can add to the BSS team.
Christopher Meehan, a former CISO at Booking.com and director of information security at Sky, brings a wealth of experience in governance, risk management, compliance, and network and operational security.
Christopher also boasts a remarkable 24-year career in the armed forces working in secure communication operations. With fellow ex-army staff members like Chris Wilkinson already on the BSS team, Christopher is a welcome addition and is further proof of our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant, signed by BSS earlier this year.
Next up is John Madelin. John is a key figure in the UK security community, bringing over 30 years of experience in designing, building, and managing cybersecurity strategies for major companies such as Cognizant and Verizon.
John is personally committed to elevating cybersecurity standards across industries, a mission that seamlessly aligns with BSS’ own goal, making him a perfect addition to the board.
Looking forward
While Christopher and John are fantastic founding members with whom to launch the BSS advisory board, we don’t intend to stop there.
As BSS grows and expands, so will the advisory board. Moving into new markets, for example, will be a prompt for us to add new experts to the board, giving our team and our clients access to the best security brains in the business.
Ultimately, we want the advisory board to serve as a valuable sounding board for both BSS staff and clients, helping us to continuously enhance and develop our services.
With the threat landscape ever evolving, we believe that knowledge is power. BSS remains committed to fostering good relationships, leveraging the right expertise, and ensuring clear communication to address the most demanding security and risk management issues. The launch of the new advisory board is just one of the ways we are staying true to this goal.
